ALLIED SPONSORED HILUX COMP TRUCK
Chris activley campaigns his heavily modified Toyota Hilux Comp Truck when ever he can. We will have constant pdates here as he competes each event & develops his rig.
30TH NOVEMBER 2017 - FRONT DIFF REBUILD
After exploding his front diff at the last comp, Chris swung by Allied for some parts and got to rebuilding the destruction. Ready for the next round of punishment.
4TH - 5TH NOVEMBER 2017 RIED RIVER MEET
Chris took the Allied sponsored hilux down to the Ried River meet last weekend. Here is his report from the weekend:
There has been quite a few mods done to the vehicle since last comp, many untested. So there has been an addition of an eaton m90 supercharger, changes to the fuel system, fitment of Fox Hydro bumpstops and spring changes and a few cosmetic changes to fit the blower. We started the weekend off well with 2nd place in the high speed stage. Then we had technical winching stages. On one of the stage 3 winch walls I went a bit heavy on the loud pedal and managed to shatter the front diff. With no spare on hand we had to make do by retiring and having a few ale's and enjoyed watching the fellow competitors. A new diff centre with stronger nitro gears is currently being built along with a few other mods before the annual MORC comp early next year.
Bad luck Chris! Look foward to seeing more action next year!
21st - 23rd JULY 2017 FNQ OFFROAD CHALLENGE
Chris & his Allied sponsored Hilux hit the dirt for the FNQ OFFROAD CHALLENGE. A few issues prevented the Hilux from reaching the pointy end of the field although they did snatch a few stage wins. See chris's report from the event below.
We had a fairly hectic time over the weekend. However stressful it was it was always enjoyable when behind the wheel. Had a stage win and some good times. Found the limit of the suspension set up(changes soon).
Had a few "fuel system" issues on the gps stage and had a dnf. Put the tailshaft through the transmission pan on Fridays stages. Thanks to Tyson Pascoe for getting burnt while fixing it. I think we bent the front diff on the high speed night stage when we did a bit of a pirouette on the front wheel. Love my new Red winch set up. Thanks for all the other competitors for coming, like a big family now. My wife Kylie Wieden has done an awesome job bringing the event together.
Many thanks to my sponsors

14th-16th APRIL 2017 MACKAY OFFROAD CHALLENGE
Chris & his comp truck sponsored by Allied Bearings & Tools recently attended the Mackay Offroad Challenge. Here is a quick run down from Chris:
We came 16th in open class and first in the team challenge with and outstanding run. We broke a chromoly cv joint and an engine mount and some other minor things. I have a few improvements and minor tweaks before FNQ comp and Townsville comps.
